Leadership Staff

June 10 - Aug 31, 2019

Leadership staff are the guides that help all lead the other summer staff in the amazing activities of camp!

-The Program Lead is responsible for bringing the fun to every moment
-The LIT Lead works alongside our high school leadership students in intentional service leadership discipleship.
-The Day Camp Lead makes sure that Day Camp is a safe, fun, and impactful experience for all of our littlest campers.

Cabin Leaders

June 16 - August 31, 2019

$250/wk + room and board

Our ministry is built around forming deep, Christ-sharing relationships with kids. Cabin leaders live life with campers, jumping in right alongside them through games, swimming, and all the other activities in order to show God's love to them in every part of the day. Cabin leaders will rotate between day camp and overnight camp depending on needs for each week.

Activities Staff

Giant Swing, kayaking, swimming, archery, and so much more. These staff make sure that all activities are fun, safe, and pointing kids to Jesus. We provide all the training. Applicants must be strong swimmers.

Volunteers

Room and board plus amazing experience

We couldn't do this without volunteers who bring great energy for a week at a time. Most volunteers serve as cabin leaders in overnight camp, but other positions are also available and helpful. Apply through our regular staff portal below and select volunteer as the position preference!

Full-Time

Food Service

Our hospitality centers around the experience we provide at the table. Every delicious meal is intentionally prepared, served, and concluded with the highest hospitality standards. If you take pride in a job well done and have an eye for detail and cleanliness then ask us about openings with in our Food Service.

Snapshot of this role:

  • Assist the Food Service Director in executing quality meals and service.
  • Remain flexible in an ever-changing environment with unexpected guest needs.
  • Maintain and use kitchen equipment in clean, safe, and efficient ways.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance and be on your feet for extended hours.

    Housekeeping

    Good hospitality demands careful management of our buildings and other resources. Attention to details, even our more rustic accommodations,  have an important impact on guest experiences. All your efforts help identify Camp Indianola as a "third space" for our guests, whether they come for intentional retreat and quietness or leisure and adventure activities to accent their lives.

    Buildings & Grounds

    Camp Indianola is a 100 acre camp and retreat center with 1300 ft of Puget Sound waterfront. We understand the immense responsibility of caring for the precious resources we share with our surrounding community and the United Methodist Church. Helping care for our historic buildings and unique grounds will provide you countless opportunities to demonstrate hard work, creativity, and strategic management of camp equipment and volunteers.

    Snapshot of this role:

  • General maintenance of property by manual and mechanical means.
  • Safely operate motorized resources and multiple hand tools.
  • Responsibly collect and dispose of clippings, debris, and other materials.
  • Work extended hours standing, walking, crouching, lifting, and reaching
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.

    Year-Round Staff

    Camp isn't just for the summer. We are busy year-round welcoming guests from all over Puget Sound with Christian hospitality.

    Housekeeping

    $12-15/hr + sick leave

    We have 5 kitchens, 13 bathrooms, and 120 beds in 24 bedrooms. On any given week some or all of them are dirty. Part of greeting groups with Christian hospitality is preparing clean, welcoming spaces for them. These team members are vital in that effort.

    September-June we need extra help running activities for our guests. This is occasional work, usually 2-5 hours per week, guiding kayaking, leading archery, or facilitating the Giant Swing or challenge course. Training is provided.
